Understanding

Being a part of any group or large fighting force, one must understand the people they are working with, for they are to become your family. To understand someone means to try and visualize life through their eyes, to see their struggles and try and lift them up with support through viewing things from their perspective. To absolutely not under any circumstance judge where they are in their walk, because we all move at a different pace and dance to a different tune, or tell them things like “oh I remember when I went through that.” or “you should do, this” just fill in the blanks. More often then not people just want to hear “I am here for you” and then to see the follow-through, which is the most important part because action speaks louder. Its what we are called to do.

Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

Philippians 2:2

make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose

Where are you at?

Recently I was at work and found my thoughts wondering, not to what GOD was doing around me, but to my future. That’s when GOD spoke and said “Joshua, where are you at right now?” to which I replied “um at work GOD.” with a confused look on my face, that’s when I heard “then be at work, and always be present in all situations or you might miss an opportunity that I have put before you.” So since then I have been trying my very best to remain present in all situations, and it has been having numerous benefits,  It may seem silly to some but I am a day dreamer so my thoughts tend to wonder from time to time, but I always try to remember to keep my eyes on the cross and to be present, if not for myself then for those around me, because people like to vent when you are open and present, if you are to speak and receptive to the holy spirit, then he will prompt you to speak. Either way you will get to share a beautiful moment with someone, or even a moment just absorbing all the beauty of GODS creation, and life is all about moments, and if you’re not paying attention you might miss it, and eventually there will never be another moment ever again, so be present and in this moment right now, because it is a good one.

Matthew 6:26-27

26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?

Psalm 119:105

Your word is a lamp to my feet
And a light to my path.

Job 12:7-10

“But now ask the beasts, and they will teach you;
And the birds of the air, and they will tell you;
Or speak to the earth, and it will teach you;
And the fish of the sea will explain to you.
Who among all these does not know
That the hand of the Lord has done this,
10 In whose hand is the life of every living thing,
And the breath of all mankind?

Spiritual warfare: Denomination

So unity within the body has been weighing heavily on my heart a lot recently, though our war is within the unseen it doesn’t mean the enemy cant operate in the physical. Just as our god operates in the physical so does our enemy, and much like a physical war, a spiritual war is fought in similar ways. The easiest way to defeat your opponent is to divide his forces, and that’s what I feel is happening when people argue about which denomination is correct or incorrect, that effort would be much more useful in helping our brothers and sisters and serving and honoring the lord together as one. So I pray that we may stand together as truly one body so that we may love one another, and truly be more then conquerors in Christ Jesus.

Romans 14:5-8

One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord;[a] and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

1 Corinthians 1:10

10 Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

Mark 12:29-31

29 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’[a] This is the first commandment.[b] 31 And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[c] There is no other commandment greater than these.”

Be the light not the judge

We have a charge to keep, we must be the light of the world as instructed by our father. When a situation becomes overwhelming and you feel as if you are not growing, or you feel as if your shine is growing dimmer, go to him who speaks and he will give you rest. Also take a personal inventory, when was the last time you prayed, got into your word, or recharged on the holy spirit? Sometimes a situation may seem to toxic to move forward, or like you are tapped in bondage, there are many times in my life where I believed this to be true, however I asked god to show me what was to be learned from the situation or if I may be released and he showed me the way. Second I ask you to try and observe your own outlook, are you in a constant state of judgement of the walks of others or their pasts? Try to remember your own past i’m sure there were many bumps in the road that got you here today, maybe your stuck in your past, remember they were lessons not a life sentence. SO when things feel meek and light seems dim, trust in GOD and stay in your lane, all will be revealed to you at just the right time.

Matthew 5:14-16

14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

Matthew 7:1-4

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?

Romans 8:1-2

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
