Dont hate the player, hate the game

So the most important thing Jesus told us to remember, the main reason we are here, are you ready for it? its four letters, the most important thing we have to remember is

L. O. V. E

love is the most important thing of all, and we have to love everyone.(even the guy that didn’t stand up for the national anthem)

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”

37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

I am writing this because recently I have become dismayed at the questionable actions of those around me, Christians and non Christians alike. It was getting to the point where I was forgetting the most important instruction of the father, its so simple too “Love me, love yourself love others.”

For me a renewal of the mind has to happen on a minute by minute basis sometimes.

Romans 12:2

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

It first started in my workplaces, being treated like a subhuman for years can ware you out if you don’t remember who you are, then after I remembered who I was and Who’s I was it became a little easier, but still even recently I had struggled with the things people around me were saying and doing. I had to renew my mind to change my perspective. I said I need to look at the things people say as a reflection of how they feel about themselves and not how they feel about me, because it is written

39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’

If you don’t love yourself then how will you treat your neighbor? probably how you treat yourself. If you love others without first loving yourself than your love for them will be false and still never quite feel right.

In watching those around me reject blessings, reject wisdom, reject GOD, I began to grow more and more angry, In the same sense I had to renew my mind once again, (I know i’m making a trend of this right?)If they don’t know or remember who they are then how would I expect them to make the Godly choice?  It was in the moment I realized this I began to weep for the lost. My heart is still, even as I write this, breaking for them.

So I sat and watched as my comrades became captive (read prisoners of war) with the rest of the lost and continued to weep, crying out “GOD! what can I do! here I am lord send me!”

In that moment I remembered who’s I was, and what I have been charged to do.

Isaiah 61:1-3

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;
To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
That they may be called trees of righteousness,
The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

So I picked myself up shook myself off, and put my locksmith uniform on and went forth to go and give the good news to set free my brothers and sisters in captivity remembering  that its always all about Jesus. That no matter what I do with my hands I must always be a disciple of Christ first, that I, with his strength have to be the change, and he brought this scripture back to mind in that moment.

James 1:22-25

22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

So my prayer for all who read this if you are someone you know is held in captivity I, with the authority of Jesus Christ, through the power of his Resurrection command those chains broken and cast away, that all prison doors be opened in Jesus name, right now. I pray that we may grow in oneness with GOD through communion with Holy Spirit. That we may all be doers of the word not just hearers that we may have boldness and that where ever our feet may step we will carry his fire with us and usher forth revival to our homes to our lives to our work place to our families and that we may stand united as his body and be of one accord.

Dehydrated

Just as there are many things that can make us physically dehydrated, there are many things that can make us spiritually dry and dehydrated as well. The woman at the well is a perfect example of this.

John 4:1-26

A Samaritan Woman Meets Her Messiah

Therefore, when the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John (though Jesus Himself did not baptize, but His disciples), He left Judea and departed again to Galilee. But He needed to go through Samaria.

So He came to a city of Samaria which is called Sychar, near the plot of ground that Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.” For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

10 Jesus answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of God, and who it is who says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked Him, and He would have given you living water.”

11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep. Where then do You get that living water? 12 Are You greater than our father Jacob, who gave us the well, and drank from it himself, as well as his sons and his livestock?”

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”

17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.”

Jesus said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’ 18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. 20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.”

21 Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe Me, the hour is coming when you will neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, worship the Father.22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is of the Jews. 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.

The woman went to go draw water, and the scripture was specific what time It was, she went at this time because it was the hottest part of the day and she knew no one would be around.

Now Jacob’s well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

She was so ashamed that she was even taken back that Jesus was even talking to her.

Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew, ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

She did not want people to be around because she was ashamed that she had five husbands, and the man she was with was not her husband. She had enough of the others ridicule so she waited. She must have been so thirsty after waiting all day to get a drink, unable to do so due to shame. However she continues to talk to Jesus, and he lets her know some things.

13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

At this point the woman is down and out in her life so when Jesus lets her know, she is finally at the place where she wants to not only, quit going to the well at the hottest part of the day, she wants to quit going to the well altogether.

15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw.”

So Jesus instructs her how to have the living water, by worshiping in the spirit and in truth.

But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. 24 God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”

25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.”

26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.

This scripture has always spoke to me about how we can often dehydrate our faith by doing things that we know go against gods word, and how we often times try to re-hydrate with things other than Jesus. How we continue to drink from the well and not from the living water.

Like for example, I had become ashamed of many of the things I had done with my life and was drinking from all kinds of wells.(trying to self medicate) Women, alcohol, even drugs occasionally, but I found when I was doing these things,  when I wasn’t drinking from the living water  I was growing more and more ashamed, and more and more thirsty, but it wasn’t until I drank again from the living water that the shame was chipped off of me and I was healed of many things. I understand now that there is no substitute for Jesus’ love, that there is no substitute for Living Water.

My prayer to all who read this is, that if you are someone you know is drinking from the well of the world to try and solve there problems that they may understand how to drink the water of life, and if they don’t know how that they may understand Jesus, who he is, what he has done, and accept his love, and that we know we may all fall down sometimes and grow thirsty as well, but we stand on the knowledge that he is always there offering his cup of living water so that we may thirst no more, but that we may all feel the water of life flow through our veins.

Prisoner of War

Although I have fought in a physical war, I was never a prisoner of an actual war. I was however, at one time a prisoner of the spiritual war the rages on even still. For it is written.

Ephesians 6:12

12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 10:3

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh.

These are just a couple of prime examples.

Okay get the campfire going its side bar story time.

I had disconnected myself from the body of Christ, and nearly shut out the voice of holy spirit altogether. I was battling with many things at this point, PTSD, addiction, anger, lust, wrath, you name it. I was turning to the world for guidance instead of the ultimate problem solver. I was right where the enemy wanted me, losing hope and trapped as a prisoner of war. I had completely forgot that I had the key until I finally stepped back into a spirit filled church for the first time in forever. It was like I could breathe for the very first time. They helped set me free and get me to where I am now, through the guidance of Holy Spirit.

this short little back story is one of the things I am using to show what was promised in a previous post, that I would tell you some things on why we are here individually.(more will follow after this) At salvation, yes you are free from the laws of sin and death

Romans 8:1

There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

but at salvation you just got conscripted into a war(don’t be afraid though i finished the book, the good guys win), and your charge is to walk according to the spirit, to walk in the victory and power of the Resurrection, to put on the armor of GOD, to let your love for the father reflect in your actions and words if necessary.

Ephesians 6:10-18

10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,[a] against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God; 18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—

(keep in mind the book of Ephesians was written by an actual man, who was actually in jail.)

and much like in a physical war we don’t leave anyone behind, so we should not only try and save those who are lost, but also go get those who have lost their way.(much like myself) and have become themselves prisoners of war.

Isaiah 61:1

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound;

Okay so like I said there will be more to come, and I always will close out with a prayer so.

My prayer is that we all put on the full armor of GOD and let it saturate the very fiber of our being, that we follow holy spirit wherever he may lead us that he may give us an encouraging spirit so we may guide the wayward back to he who speaks. and just that we may reflect his love light to the world around us and shine in the face of darkness. Amen.

James 1:17

17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.

Task and purpose

We have all been put here for a reason, a task and a purpose. A higher calling than, work pay bills and die. Weather you wish to accept that is up to you.

One of my favorite story’s describes this in detail.

Matthew 3:13-17

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan to be baptized by him. 14 And John tried to prevent Him, saying, “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?”

15 But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.

16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He[a] saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

I can imagine Johns face when he saw the messiah, the son of GOD strolling on up to him in the Jordan river. saying hey bud wanna baptize me real quick. “I need to be baptized by You, and are You coming to me?” is what John says but that wasn’t Jesus task, his was something far greater but it still fell on John to baptize Jesus because that was Johns task.

His purpose was to pave the way for Jesus.

Matthew 3:1-6

In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!”For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying:

“The voice of one crying in the wilderness:
‘Prepare the way of the Lord;
Make His paths straight.’”[a]

Now John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was locusts and wild honey. Then Jerusalem, all Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him and were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins.

He did this by reminding the people of another mans task, Isaiah, and how he Prophesied Jesus arrival. But Johns purpose still wasn’t only to pave the way, and baptize Jesus. It was to glorify GOD, by accepting these tasks to the fullest degree. He later then became a martyr because of these things but he still fulfilled his duty as a child of GOD.

Jesus, his task was much greater

Matthew 3:11-12

11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.[b] 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.”

And Just as John was saying he knew Jesus task which was why he was saying, “Those are some shoes I just cannot fill.” John knew only the son of GOD could manage that task.

Acts 1:4-8

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father,“which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a]in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

In that moment Jesus gave us one of our tasks, to spread the good news of salvation to the ends of the earth. This is one of the things we have all been called to do (I will go more into what we have been called to do individually in a later post don’t worry)

Even though we all have these higher callings, some days that is easier to understand the others, we can all get discouraged from time to time. But don’t fret even these guys tried to pass off the mantle that they had been assigned.

Luke 22:42

42 saying, “Father, if it is Your will, take this cup away from Me; nevertheless not My will, but Yours, be done.”

But in those moments all we have to do is ask that his will be done in our lives.

So maybe you just had a rough day maybe you are running from your mantle, your task, maybe your task is growing harder I just pray that the will of the father be done in our lives in our homes and in our relationships, that he may cloth us in the fire of his holy spirit, that we become the change our nation needs that everywhere our feet may step we usher forth the good news of revival and that all glory honor and praise go to the father.

Master Plan

So i’m going to take a different approach to this blog, go a little deeper one might say, its going to be a little longer so please just bear with me, or don’t I mean its entirely up to you. I’m just saying you might like it and I’ll love you either way.

I would like to share with you some things that I was reading in the bible recently.

1 Samuel 8

Now it came to pass when Samuel was old that he made his sons judges over Israel. The name of his firstborn was Joel, and the name of his second, Abijah; they were judges in Beersheba. But his sons did not walk in his ways; they turned aside after dishonest gain, took bribes, and perverted justice.

Then all the elders of Israel gathered together and came to Samuel at Ramah, and said to him, “Look, you are old, and your sons do not walk in your ways. Now make us a king to judge us like all the nations.”

But the thing displeased Samuel when they said, “Give us a king to judge us.” So Samuel prayed to the Lord. And the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed the voice of the people in all that they say to you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected Me, that I should not reign over them. According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt, even to this day—with which they have forsaken Me and served other gods—so they are doing to you also. Now therefore, heed their voice. However, you shall solemnly forewarn them, and show them the behavior of the king who will reign over them.”

10 So Samuel told all the words of the Lord to the people who asked him for a king. 11 And he said, “This will be the behavior of the king who will reign over you: He will take your sons and appoint them for his own chariots and to be his horsemen, and some will run before his chariots.12 He will appoint captains over his thousands and captains over his fifties, will set some to plow his ground and reap his harvest, and someto make his weapons of war and equipment for his chariots. 13 He will take your daughters to be perfumers, cooks, and bakers. 14 And he will take the best of your fields, your vineyards, and your olive groves, and give them to his servants. 15 He will take a tenth of your grain and your vintage, and give it to his officers and servants. 16 And he will take your male servants, your female servants, your finest young men,[a] and your donkeys, and put them to his work. 17 He will take a tenth of your sheep. And you will be his servants. 18 And you will cry out in that day because of your king whom you have chosen for yourselves, and the Lord will not hear you in that day.”

19 Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, “No, but we will have a king over us, 20 that we also may be like all the nations, and that our king may judge us and go out before us and fight our battles.”

21 And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he repeated them in the hearing of the Lord. 22 So the Lord said to Samuel, “Heed their voice, and make them a king.”

And Samuel said to the men of Israel, “Every man go to his city.”

GOD didn’t even want there to be a king over the land, but all of Israel wanted a king so he told them, “okay, you will have your king, but i’m going to let you know right now, he is not going to do right by you, in fact, he is going to take a lot of your things.” but even though GOD had offered them a warning, a way out they still said, naw we want our king.

so tada Saul show’s up and the lord tells Samuel to anoint him king of Israel.

1 Samuel 9:27

Saul Anointed King

27 As they were going down to the outskirts of the city, Samuel said to Saul, “Tell the servant to go on ahead of us.” And he went on. “But you stand here awhile, that I may announce to you the word of God.”

So Samuel knows some things that are about to go down at this point, and he tries to tell the people. “hey, you wanted a king, GOD wanted to be your king, but no you wanted a king so he gave you one, im just letting you know watch out because if you disobey god or if the king disobeys god then some things are going to happen that you may or may not like.”

1 Samuel 12:6-15

Then Samuel said to the people, “It is the Lord who raised up Moses and Aaron, and who brought your fathers up from the land of Egypt. Now therefore, stand still, that I may reason with you before the Lordconcerning all the righteous acts of the Lord which He did to you and your fathers: When Jacob had gone into Egypt,[a] and your fathers cried out to the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron, who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place. And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor, into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the king of Moab; and they fought against them. 10 Then they cried out to the Lord, and said, ‘We have sinned, because we have forsaken the Lord and served the Baals and Ashtoreths;[b] but now deliver us from the hand of our enemies, and we will serve You.’ 11 And the Lord sent Jerubbaal,[c] Bedan,[d] Jephthah, and Samuel,[e] and delivered you out of the hand of your enemies on every side; and you dwelt in safety. 12 And when you saw that Nahash king of the Ammonites came against you, you said to me, ‘No, but a king shall reign over us,’ when the Lord your God was your king.

13 “Now therefore, here is the king whom you have chosen and whom you have desired. And take note, the Lord has set a king over you. 14 If you fear the Lord and serve Him and obey His voice, and do not rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then both you and the king who reigns over you will continue following the Lord your God. 15 However, if you do not obey the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the commandment of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers.

but they didn’t heed Samuel’s warning and bad things pretty much just start happening because of Saul’s disobedience. So then the lord sees a young man in the field tending to his sheep praising him day and night that he feels is fit to be a better king then Saul, that man was David.

1 Samuel 16:12-13

12 So he sent and brought him in. Now hewas ruddy, with bright eyes, and good-looking. And the Lord said, “Arise, anoint him; for this is the one!” 13 Then Samuel took the horn of oil and anointed him in the midst of his brothers; and the Spirit of theLord came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel arose and went to Ramah.

Now David had a whole process to become King, and many great battles and much gain and loss happen in his lifetime. In fact David had problems up until they day he died with the people, but he always put god first. Yes he fell short many times as we all do but he confessed and repented and made things right in the sight of the Lord, but it was never about David.

2 Samuel 7:12-17

12 “When your days are fulfilled and you rest with your fathers, I will set up your seed after you, who will come from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14 I will be his Father, and he shall be My son. If he commits iniquity, I will chasten him with the rod of men and with the blows of the sons of men. 15 But My mercy shall not depart from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from before you. 16 And your house and your kingdom shall be established forever before you.[b] Your throne shall be established forever.”’”

17 According to all these words and according to all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.

God’s answers are always yes, sometimes your yes takes some refining time some times its not even what you asked for its a far better yes.

just like when the Israelite’s asked for a king

It was never about David, it was never about Saul, It was always about Jesus (the better yes). From the moment they said we want a king over us! God knew that these guys were going to do it wrong. Even David was going to do it wrong, and he was a man after God’s own heart. So he knew that he had to come, 100% man and 100% GOD, to do it the right way. To be the king of kings, to be the prince of peace, to be the wonderful counselor. even after this event took place It still took some time for Jesus to even show up though(the wait for the better yes), and there were many people that were telling everyone he was going to arrive one day but still no one listened, even after he showed up no one listened.

When I was putting this together, he spoke to me, in the matter of a recent event in my life of things I was asking for but not really happening or that I felt like I was failing at saying that no matter what, he has a plan and a purpose for our lives that no matter what WE try to put in the way of that he will always be king, he doesn’t want us to go the hard way. Instead of demanding Saul to be king they could have just kept letting GOD be king, but even though we may choose Saul over God sometimes(whatever that may look like to you) He will always send Jesus to get us back on the right track we just have to let him into our lives.

so my prayer today is that we just let gods grace and mercy shower over us with open arms and not try to fight it, that we just allow his love to shine through us into the world around us and that we just thank him and praise his name all the days of our lives.
