Okay so I know I haven’t written one of these in like twelve years but I HAVE been in Paramedic school and that kind of eclipsed everything I hold dear.
So I know excuses are just like opinions, everyone has one (you like the PG version?) having stated that I wanted to formally apologize for my lack of discipline. But in the wise words of my brother Jordan, “Don’t be sorry just be better.”
So looks like its time to dust off the cobwebs and take another crack at it.
Ever since I was a young boy I have always been a dreamer. I’m talking daydreams, big dreams, and small dreams.(Goals/aspirations) I’m talking actual dreams too. Real vivid dreams that sometimes I wake up from and don’t realize that it didn’t actually happen for real, and I have been having them more and more frequently. So I began to research and ponder on what that was all about.
I have found a number of things involving dreams. Almost every culture from beginning to now has had a Dreamer type individual. Early to modern philosophy has even stated the importance of dreams.
I, however, have my own take on the importance of dreams. My theory is that we are all too often caught up in our daily lives, with the distractions both from the world and the distractions that we actively pursue to understand what is happening in the heavenly places that surround us or that we cant hear the still small voice of warning or guiding. So when we sleep that is when we are most in tune with the spirit because our body is only focused on staying alive and maintaining basic bodily function I/E breathing. This Is why I view dreams to be very significant and I will always stress the importance of trying to find the meaning to them. Even in my faith the early people of GOD often had individuals who dreamed dreams and needed an interpreter. Just look at Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar In Daniel 2
24 So Daniel went to Arioch, whom the king had appointed to destroy the wise men of Babylon; he went and said this to him: “Do not execute the wise men of Babylon! Bring me before the king, and I will reveal to the king the interpretation [of his dream].”
Some of the most important messages were passed in dreams. Like when Joseph was about to divorce Mary and the angel of the Lord came to him in a dream.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, descendant of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife, for the Child who has been [k]conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 She will give birth to a Son, and you shall name Him Jesus (The Lord is salvation), for He will [l]save His people from their sins.” 22 All this happened in order to fulfill what the Lord had spoken through the [m]prophet [Isaiah]: 23 “Behold, the[n]virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel”—which, when translated, means, “God with us.” 24 Then Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and he took Mary [to his home] as his wife,
Pretty important message if you ask me. Why do I think dreams are relevant to the church of today you may ask? Well, my first response is to state that GOD is the same yesterday, TODAY, and forever so why would he just stop talking to us in such an intamate way? Second I would like to bring up this final scripture in Acts.
‘And it shall be in the last days,’ says God,
‘That I will pour out My Spirit upon all mankind;
And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
And your young men shall see [divinely prompted] visions,
And your old men shall dream [divinely prompted] dreams;
So I hope that this peaked your intrest in one way or another and that you recive from it what you came in search of and as always I love you, thank you for hearing the impressions of my heart and remember.
