Our bodies are a blueprint for the design of creation. Pretty bold statement I know but think about it when we are cut we heal, when we are sick our bodies fight back the infection, or sickness (most of the time, sometimes they need help yes but that’s a whole other post) but right now im going to focus on the breath.
First looking at breath from the physical perspective.
Not to sound like a big deal or anything but I work out,
having said that, while you are working out if you are breathing improperly or not at all, there could be some serious repercussions. If you are going to hard you will start to become out of breath.
but when that happens we need to take a minute and “catch our breath” and our heart rate goes down. Breathing is often an effective method for calming down for that very reason, they even tell mothers during child-birth to maintain their breathing.
Now all of these have a spiritual aspect as well. Just when we are going through our lives we can’t forget to take a minute to just be and breath with GOD. The bible references the breath in many ways all equally important.
the first of which is in Genesis 2:7
Then the LORD God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.
and in the same manner with Ezekiel in the valley of the dry bones GOD breaths life.
8 Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them.
9 Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.”’” 10 So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.
so the breath gives us life and calms us down. It helps us find our center and remind us who we are, but wait, theres more. A different kind of breath is the holy spirit breath. just as in Ezekiel where the breath manifests as the four winds the holy spirit breath shows up the same way on the day of pentecost in
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place.2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.
so not only is the breath important for life, maintaining balance, and centering, but the breath is also what ushers in the manifest presence of the Holy spirit.
Again as always thanks for reading I love you guys and all I pray is for our breathing rate to match that of the holy spirits so we may be centered and rest in his manifest presence.
