When we pray asking for something we often visualize it, and create expectations in those moments, and in doing this we set limitations on GOD. The visual expectation of what we are asking for, does not always align with his will. His will for us is so vast and incomprehensible that often times when the thing we are praying for shows up on our doorstep there are way more things that come out of it then just the one thing we wanted. Sometimes that can scare people, sometimes the lack of control over the blessing will cause people to reject it and they choose to wonder around the mountain again. A lot of times it will require effort and time to cultivate, (Something my generation has a hard time understanding how to do.) and this will also make people stray away. However if we see his hand, and he is blessing us we just need to be blessed and press into the understanding that he is GOD and we are not, that each gift he gives is perfect no matter what it may look like at the time and that when we accept it, and cultivate it, and grow with it the end result will be beyond anything our heart could even imagine to desire.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
he showed me this message when I was out looking at the brightest full moon I had ever seen, resting in his presence and promises with wonderful company, it was in that moment and I had this thought When the moon is the brightest its because there is nothing in between it and the sun, and It illuminates the darkness, but if the earth gets in between the sun and the moon, in a total eclipse for example its light is gone.
Its the same for us when we put Jesus first we shine so bright that we illuminate the darkness.
14 “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
To give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death,
To guide our feet into the way of peace.”
So in spirit we are limitless an unstoppable force for good, able to change the atmosphere in any situation, it is our on doubt and our own self that gets in the way of being used in this manner. It is when we let the world eclipse Jesus that our light no longer shines, he never leaves our side but we are definitely not filling our shoes and our charge to be lights of the world.
So my prayer is this, that in those moments we may call on the name of the lord to renew our strength, to let his living water flow through our veins, to show us that through his so our savior we have been set free and that we may have the strength and endurance to walk in that freedom and stand up for that freedom, that we may all burn for him to light the darkness and Its all to bring glory and honor to the father, and in Jesus name. Amen
