In boot camp you first learn that your weapon is an extension of your body. Everywhere you go, your weapon goes also. In some occasions you even sleep with your weapon. You then continue that same idea throught your enlistment, well I feel like as Christians we must have that same stigma and gumption with our sword, which is the living word of GOD. We must breathe it, speak it on every occasion, let it saturate our every fiber and truly become a extension of our whole existence. Just as someone gets scolded(I use that term loosely)when they missuse or treat their weapon poorly, so to shall we train ourselves with the sword of the spirit so when we see people trying to misuse it we may educate them, with love.
But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’”
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two-edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.
And take THE HELMET OF SALVATION, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
